Dekselopener Westmark 10522260 zwart RVS

The Westmark jar lid opener is a manual kitchen tool designed to provide mechanical leverage for opening tightly sealed jars. Constructed from black plastic and stainless steel, the opener measures approximately 120 mm wide, 315 mm deep and 23 mm high, providing a compact footprint that fits most kitchen drawers. Its shape and materials are selected to combine durability with a non-slip grip and corrosion resistance where metal contact is required.

Advantages

The combination of stainless steel and robust black plastic offers durability and easy maintenance. The tool’s length and leverage reduce hand force required to break jar seals, making it suitable for people with limited grip strength. Its compact dimensions allow for convenient storage, and the metal components resist wear from repeated use and exposure to moisture.

Suitable for

• Opening glass jars with screw-on lids of various diameters
• Assisting users with reduced hand strength or arthritis
• Everyday household kitchen use for preserves, sauces and bottled goods

Key specifications

• Primary materials: black plastic body and stainless steel working parts
• Overall dimensions: ~120 mm (width) × 315 mm (depth) × 23 mm (height)
• Operation: manual lever action to increase torque on lids
• Suitability: compatible with a wide range of screw-on jar lid sizes
• Maintenance: wipe clean; metal parts resist corrosion under normal kitchen conditions

How to use

Place the opener over the jar lid so the metal gripping area contacts the lid edge, then apply downward or turning pressure on the handle to increase leverage and rotate the lid. Adjust the position as needed to engage securely around the lid circumference. After loosening, remove the opener and complete unscrewing by hand. Clean the tool with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly before storage.

Recommendations

For best performance, ensure the lid and jar rim are dry and free of sticky residues before using the opener. Avoid applying excessive force beyond normal leverage to prevent damage to the jar or the tool. Store in a dry place to preserve the stainless steel parts.
