Rechargeable Dell laptop battery 42Wh lithium-ion prismatic cell designed as a compatible replacement for select Dell notebooks. This battery restores portable power for everyday tasks such as web browsing, office work and media playback, and is intended to replace worn or degraded batteries to recover run time and maintain stable system operation.

Advantages

This 42Wh lithium-ion prismatic battery offers a balance between capacity and weight for improved portability. Its chemistry provides consistent voltage output and reliable charge-discharge cycles typical for notebook use. As a compatible replacement for certain Dell models, it integrates with system power management to support normal battery reporting and charging behaviour.

Key specifications

• Type: Lithium-ion prismatic cell
• Nominal energy capacity: 42 Wh
• Form factor: Internal laptop battery, slim prismatic pack
• Typical use: Rechargeable power source for compatible notebook models
• Expected behaviour: Supports standard notebook charging and reporting functions

How to use

Power down the notebook and disconnect the AC adapter before attempting battery replacement. Remove the existing battery following the notebook manufacturer’s instructions and install the replacement pack, ensuring the battery connector seats securely. After installation, connect the AC adapter and allow the system to detect the new battery; initial calibration may require a full charge cycle and occasional power cycling through the operating system battery tools.

Recommendations

For optimal lifespan, avoid deep discharges and prolonged storage at full charge; store the battery at moderate state of charge (around 40–60%) if not used for extended periods. Use the notebook’s power management settings to reduce unnecessary charge cycles and maintain firmware/BIOS updates from the system vendor to ensure correct battery reporting and charging behavior.

Note: Verify physical compatibility with your specific Dell notebook model before purchase and follow safety guidance for handling lithium-ion batteries, including avoiding exposure to heat, crushing, or direct contact with liquids.
