The DeLOCK 90998 HFBR 4503-4513Z fibre optic cable is a 1 m plastic optical fibre (POF) lead with HFBR simplex male connectors on both ends. It is intended for use with Avago/Broadcom (formerly Agilent/Avago) transmitters and receivers and provides interference-free multimode signal transmission with low insertion loss.

Advantages

This 1 mm core POF cable offers simple plug-and-play connectivity via HFBR 4503Z (grey) and HFBR 4513Z (blue) simplex male connectors. The multimode plastic fibre ensures durable, flexible cabling with insertion loss below 2.0 dB and includes dust protection caps to keep connectors clean during storage and installation.

Suitable for

When it may not be suitable

This cable is not intended for long-distance singlemode optical links or installations that require glass optical fibre. It is also not suitable for systems that need connectors or form factors other than HFBR 4503Z/4513Z simplex male types.

How to use

Align each HFBR simplex male connector with the corresponding HFBR receptacle on the transmitter and receiver modules, then push gently until the connectors seat. Ensure the grey HFBR 4503Z and blue HFBR 4513Z are connected to the correct ports according to the device documentation. Keep dust caps on until ready to install and avoid bending the cable tightly to maintain optical performance.

What to consider before purchase

Recommendations

Use this multimode POF cable for short-range links between compatible Avago/Broadcom modules, store with dust caps fitted, and avoid tight bends or kinks to preserve low insertion loss and reliable signal transmission.
