Deur-/raamsensor Fibaro FGDW-002-1 ZW5

The Fibaro Door/Window Sensor 2 (FGDW-002-1 ZW5) is a compact wireless sensor that combines a contact sensor and a temperature sensor in a single battery-powered device. It communicates over the Z-Wave network and is designed to monitor the opening and closing of doors, windows, gates and other closures while providing local temperature readings. The unit features tamper protection and supports wireless firmware updates.

Advantages

The sensor is extremely compact and suitable for discreet installation. It offers dual functionality — contact detection and temperature measurement — in one housing and includes double tamper protection to detect casing interference. Installation is wireless and battery powered, using Z-Wave for secure communication and supporting over‑the‑air software updates.

Suitable for

• Monitoring doors and windows in homes and apartments
• Securing gates, garage doors and roller blinds
• Integration into Z-Wave smart home systems (Home Center, other controllers)
• Measuring ambient temperature at the mounting location

How to use

Mount the sensor body and magnet on the two parts of the door, window or other closure so that the magnet aligns with the sensor when closed. Use the supplied double-sided adhesive tape for quick, wire-free installation or choose appropriate mechanical fasteners if preferred. Add the device to your Z-Wave network by setting your controller (e.g., Home Center 2 or Home Center Lite) into inclusion/learn mode and pressing the device button three times quickly or using the mobile app pairing procedure. After inclusion, verify contact detection and check the temperature readings in your controller or app.

Recommendations

Place the sensor and magnet within the manufacturer’s recommended alignment distance to ensure reliable contact detection, check battery status periodically, and perform firmware updates via your Z-Wave controller to maintain security and compatibility.
