Dockingstation Lenovo ThinkPad USB4 Smart Dock 5500 – USB4-host, 4x USB-A Gen2, HDMI, Gigabit Ethernet, 135W-voeding, Eclipse zwart

The Lenovo ThinkPad USB4 Smart Dock 5500 is a wired docking station designed to expand connectivity and power delivery for compatible laptops. Featuring a USB4 host interface with up to 40 Gbps bandwidth and a bundled 135W AC adapter, the dock supports USB Power Delivery to supply up to 100 W to a connected notebook. The compact Eclipse Black enclosure (218 × 80 × 31.5 mm) integrates four USB 3.2 Gen2 Type‑A ports, one HDMI output, and one Gigabit Ethernet (RJ‑45) port, and supports digital video output up to 3840×2160 resolution.

Advantages

The USB4 host connection provides higher bandwidth than previous USB‑C generations, enabling greater display and peripheral performance while maintaining backward compatibility with USB devices. The included 135W adapter and USB Power Delivery support enable simultaneous docking and charging of a laptop up to 100 W. The dock’s wired design and Gigabit Ethernet port provide reliable network connectivity, and the four USB 3.2 Gen2 Type‑A ports deliver fast wired data transfer for external drives, peripherals and accessories. Compact dimensions and a cable lock slot allow convenient placement in shared workspaces.

Recommendations

For optimal display performance, use certified HDMI cables and confirm your laptop’s USB4 or USB‑C port supports video output and the required power profile. Ensure adequate ventilation around the dock and avoid placing heavy objects on top of the unit. For centralized IT management, use Lenovo Accessories Fleet Manager (LAFM) where available to update firmware and monitor device status.
