Droog touw Hummingbird EDELRID 9,2 mm 70 m Night Citrus

Dry Hummingbird EDELRID 9.2 mm 70 m Night Citrus is a lightweight single climbing rope designed for climbers who need a slim, agile line for sport climbing, alpine routes and multi-pitch ascents. With a 9.2 mm diameter and 70 m length, this rope balances low weight with sufficient length for common sport and trad pitches. The dry treatment reduces water absorption and maintains handling characteristics in damp or snowy conditions while the Night Citrus sheath improves visibility on the rock and glacier.

Advantages

The slim 9.2 mm profile reduces pack and carried weight, making it easier to move fast on long approaches and multi-pitch climbs. Dry treatment limits water uptake, which preserves dynamic performance and reduces ice and dirt absorption. The rope’s construction provides good handling, smooth belaying and efficient clipping behavior despite its narrow diameter. Night Citrus coloration enhances visual tracking during rope management.

How to use

Before each use inspect the rope for cuts, abrasions, flat sections or other damage and check for soft spots that indicate core damage. Use appropriate rope protection on sharp edges and avoid dragging the rope through loose rock or abrasive surfaces. For belaying and lowering, follow standard climbing practices with compatible belay devices rated for thin ropes; confirm device compatibility and braking technique in a safe environment. After wet or dirty use, clean the rope according to manufacturer instructions and dry it away from direct heat or sunlight.

Recommendations

For optimal longevity and safety with a 9.2 mm rope: prefer single-rope techniques tailored to thin ropes, double-check belay-device compatibility, store the rope coiled in a dry place, and retire the rope earlier than thicker ropes if it shows abrasion, core damage, or repeated heavy falls.
