Dubbelzijdig plakband Tesa 56170, 5 m x 50 mm, permanent hechtend, gewapend weefsel

Tesa 56170 double-sided tape is a cloth-backed bonding solution measuring 5 m in length and 50 mm in width with a permanent adhesive. The tape combines a fabric carrier with an aggressive pressure-sensitive adhesive to deliver reliable fixation on a variety of indoor surfaces. It is designed to provide strong shear strength and good conformability to irregular or textured substrates, making it suitable for demanding mounting and repair tasks where a lasting bond is required.

Advantages

The cloth backing gives the tape dimensional stability and tear resistance while allowing it to follow curved or uneven surfaces. Permanent adhesive formulation ensures long-term adhesion under normal indoor conditions. The combination of fabric carrier and adhesive provides high shear resistance and good holding power on materials such as wood, metal, plastics and textiles. The tape is easy to cut to length and apply, offering a neat, low-profile joint without mechanical fasteners.

Suitable for

• Mounting decorative trims and profiles indoors
• Upholstery repair and fabric joins
• Assembly tasks where a permanent, invisible join is needed
• Fixing lightweight panels and mouldings
• Temporary or semi-permanent fixes on irregular surfaces

Key specifications

• Backing material: cloth (fabric carrier)
• Adhesive type: permanent, pressure-sensitive adhesive
• Length: 5 m
• Width: 50 mm
• Intended use: indoor applications
• Performance: high shear strength and good conformability to textured surfaces

How to use

Ensure both surfaces are clean, dry and free from dust, oil or release agents before application. Cut the tape to the required length and apply pressure evenly along the bond line to achieve intimate contact between adhesive and substrate. For best results, apply firm pressure or roll the tape after positioning to enhance initial tack and shear performance. Allow the bond to develop; full adhesive strength may require some time depending on substrate and environmental conditions.

Recommendations

Use at typical indoor room temperatures; avoid prolonged exposure to high humidity or temperatures outside normal indoor ranges. Not intended for permanent outdoor exposure or structural loads. For porous or highly rough surfaces, test a small area first and consider additional mechanical fastening if high structural strength is needed.
