Dubbelzijdige tape Tesa 4944, 50 mm x 10 m, acrylschuim montageband

Tesa Double-sided tape 4944 is a 50 mm wide, 10 m long acrylic foam mounting tape designed for permanent bonding on many surfaces. The closed-cell acrylic foam carrier provides gap-filling properties and helps to compensate small surface irregularities while the pressure-sensitive adhesive ensures high initial tack and durable adhesion. This mounting tape is intended for indoor use and is suitable for mounting trims, nameplates, decorative elements and lightweight fixtures on metals, plastics and painted surfaces.

Advantages

The acrylic foam construction offers good conformability to uneven surfaces and reduces vibration transmission. The tape provides immediate handling strength and long-term load bearing for permanent attachments. It resists aging and maintains adhesive performance over time when used under recommended indoor conditions. The double-sided format allows for discrete mounting without mechanical fasteners, keeping visible surfaces clean and uninterrupted.

Suitable for

• Mounting decorative mouldings and trims indoors
• Fixing nameplates, signage and lightweight panels
• Bonding plastic and metal components to painted surfaces
• Attaching cable clips and light fixtures where mechanical fasteners are undesirable

Key specifications

• Material: acrylic foam carrier with pressure-sensitive adhesive
• Width: 50 mm
• Length: 10 m
• Thickness: closed-cell foam profile (typical foam mounting tape thickness range)
• Application: indoor permanent bonding
• Surface compatibility: metals, plastics, painted surfaces

How to use

Ensure both bonding surfaces are clean, dry and free from dust, grease or release agents. For best results, clean surfaces with isopropyl alcohol or a suitable cleaner and allow to dry. Cut the required length of tape and apply pressure to the release liner to expose the adhesive, then press the tape onto the mounting surface. Remove the remaining liner and firmly press the object to be mounted onto the tape, applying even pressure across the bonded area. Allow time for adhesive build-up; full bond strength develops over several hours at room temperature.

Recommendations

Use at recommended application temperatures and avoid long-term exposure to high humidity or direct outdoor weathering. For heavy loads, test bonding on a sample area first and consider additional mechanical fixation. Avoid use on non-stick or poorly adherent surfaces such as certain silicone-treated materials, extremely rough surfaces, or substrates that outgas. Store the tape in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to preserve adhesive performance.
