EXERTIS CONNECT OM5 SC duplex naar SC duplex LWL-patchkabel, 50/125 µm, LSZH, limoengroen, 3 m 392903

High-speed data centres and enterprise networks demand fibre cabling that can handle emerging multi-wavelength technologies without costly infrastructure changes. This EXERTIS CONNECT OM5 patch cable delivers wideband multimode performance, supporting short-wavelength division multiplexing (SWDM) and legacy multimode applications over a single lime-green jacket.

Who is it for

Network engineers and data centre managers upgrading to 40G/100G speeds who need a future-ready, backward-compatible fibre link. Ideal for patching between switches, servers, and storage in high-density environments where space and reliability are critical.

Main features

• OM5 wideband multimode fibre (WBMMF) with 50/125 µm core/cladding supports SWDM4 wavelengths from 850 nm to 953 nm.
• SC duplex to SC duplex connectors with UPC polish ensure low insertion loss and high return loss for stable connections.
• Lime green LSZH jacket is halogen-free, low-smoke, and flame-retardant for safety in enclosed spaces.
• 3.0 m length provides flexibility for rack-to-rack or intra-rack patching without excess slack.
• Effective modal bandwidth of 4700 MHz·km at 850 nm enables 40GBASE-SR4 and 100GBASE-SR4 links up to 150 m.

Tips

For best performance, keep bend radius above 10 times the cable diameter and avoid sharp twists near connectors. Use OM5 patch cords with OM5 trunks to maintain system bandwidth; mixing with OM3/OM4 is possible but may limit SWDM reach.
