Externe harde schijf Western Digital My Passport WDBYVG0020BWT-WESN 2 TB USB Type-A 3.1 Gen 1 (USB 3.2 Gen 1) wit

The Western Digital My Passport external hard drive WDBYVG0020BWT-WESN offers 2 TB of portable storage in a compact white enclosure. It connects via a USB Type-A port and supports USB 3.1 Gen 1 (also referred to as USB 3.2 Gen 1), while remaining backward compatible with USB 2.0. The drive is intended for expanding storage on laptops and desktops, storing media libraries, and creating file backups. Its slim footprint and durable casing make it suitable for everyday transport or stationary desktop use.

Advantages

The drive provides a large 2 TB capacity for photos, videos, documents and application files while maintaining plug-and-play operation over a USB Type-A connection. Support for USB 3.1 Gen 1 enables faster file transfers compared with USB 2.0, reducing copy and backup times when connected to compatible ports. The compact white housing combines a small desktop footprint with a design meant for frequent handling and portability. Backward compatibility with USB 2.0 ensures broad compatibility with older systems.

• Expanding laptop or desktop storage for documents and applications
• Storing and transporting photo and video libraries
• Regular file backups and archival of personal data
• Transferring large files between computers
• Using with media players or consoles that accept USB Type-A external drives

How to use

Connect the included USB cable to the drive and to a USB Type-A port on your computer. On modern systems with USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports, the drive will operate at higher transfer speeds; on older USB 2.0 ports it will function at the lower compatible speed. The drive is typically recognized automatically as external storage; use your operating system’s file manager to copy, move or delete files. For backups, use built-in OS tools or third-party backup software to schedule routine copies of important data to the drive.

Recommendations

Place the drive on a stable surface during heavy data transfers and avoid sudden movement. Keep the drive connected using the supplied cable; if using adapters, ensure they support USB 3.1 Gen 1 to preserve transfer speeds. Regularly create backups of critical files and safely eject the drive through the operating system before disconnecting to prevent data corruption.
