Filamentplakband 3M Tartan 50 mm x 50 m transparant

Adhesive Filament Tape 3M Tartan 50 mm x 50 m Transparent is a reinforced, pressure-sensitive tape designed for heavy-duty bundling, pallet stabilization and reinforcement tasks. The transparent backing with embedded filaments provides high tensile strength and tear resistance while the pressure-sensitive adhesive ensures reliable initial tack and long-lasting hold on a range of surfaces commonly found in industrial and shipping environments.

Advantages

This filament tape combines a strong filament reinforcement with a tacky adhesive that adheres quickly to carton board, plastic, metal and other common substrates. The transparent finish allows partial visibility of markings or labels beneath the tape. High tensile strength and tear resistance reduce tape breakage during application and transport, while the pressure-sensitive adhesive offers consistent performance without the need for heat or activators.

Suitable for

• Bundling and strapping light to medium-weight items
• Pallet stabilization and securement for transport
• Reinforcing carton corners and closures
• Temporary holding and securing during packing operations
• General heavy-duty sealing where tear resistance is required

Key specifications

• Width: 50 mm
• Length: 50 m
• Finish: Transparent
• Reinforcement: Embedded filaments for high tensile strength
• Adhesive type: Pressure-sensitive adhesive for immediate tack
• Primary properties: Tear resistance, high tensile strength, good substrate adhesion

How to use

Ensure surfaces are clean, dry and free from dust, oil or loose particles prior to application. Unwind the tape and apply by hand, dispenser or automated taping equipment as required. Press firmly to secure the adhesive to the substrate and align filaments along the length of the package for maximum tensile performance. Cut or tear the tape after application and smooth the end to prevent lifting during handling or transport.

Recommendations

For best results use this filament tape at room temperature on stable substrates. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or excessive moisture which can affect adhesive performance over long storage periods. When securing heavy loads or for critical transport moves, combine with additional strapping or edge protection to distribute load and prevent filament damage.
