Film-/diascanner Rollei DF-S 310 SE

The Rollei Slide Scanner DF-S 310 SE is a standalone film and slide scanner designed to digitize slides, negatives and Super 8 or 110 pocket camera film. The Special Edition package includes adapters for Super 8 and 110 formats. The scanner features a built-in 2.4" colour TFT LCD for previewing scans, 128 MB internal memory and an SD/SDHC card slot supporting up to 32 GB, allowing scanning without a computer. Image capture uses a high-precision multi-element lens with a native resolution of 14 MP and interpolation to 24 MP; colour depth and exposure can be set to automatic or adjusted manually.

Advantages

The DF-S 310 SE scans up to 20 slides per minute using a single-pass capture with a secure slide tray locking mechanism for accurate alignment. The integrated LCD preview simplifies checking and selecting images before saving. It offers flexible storage options (internal memory or SD/SDHC card) and can be powered via a 5 V USB connection or AC adapter. Connectivity includes USB 2.0 for PC/Mac connection and a composite video output to display images on a TV.

How to use

Place the slides, negatives or film in the appropriate tray or adapter and insert it into the scanner until it locks in place. Use the 2.4" LCD to preview images, then select automatic or manual settings for colour balance and exposure. Choose internal memory or insert an SD/SDHC card to store scanned images. For continuous scanning, feed the slide tray through the scanner; single-pass capture records each frame as it passes. To transfer files to a computer, connect the scanner via USB 2.0. Optionally, connect to a TV using the composite video jack to view images directly on a larger screen.

Recommendations

For best results, clean slides and negatives before scanning and ensure they are correctly seated in the tray or adapter. Use SDHC cards up to 32 GB for larger batches of scans and verify exposure or colour balance on the LCD preview before saving if you plan to archive images in high quality.
