Glasvezelkabel InfiniBand ShiverPeaks 77906/4 15 m

The InfiniBand fibre optic cable ShiverPeaks 77906/4 15 m is a 15-metre multimode fibre link designed for high-speed data transmission. It uses OM4 fibres with a 50 µm core diameter and ST connectors on both ends to provide full duplex communication. The cable is intended for use in data centres, server rooms and network installations where low attenuation and consistent signal integrity are required.

Advantages

This InfiniBand fibre optic cable offers OM4 multimode performance that supports higher bandwidth and longer reach compared with earlier multimode types. The 50 µm core diameter ensures compatibility with standard multimode transceivers and simplifies alignment at ST connectors. Full duplex transmission via separate transmit and receive fibres reduces latency and supports simultaneous bidirectional data flow. The 15 m length provides flexibility for rack-to-rack and equipment-to-equipment connections while maintaining stable optical characteristics and minimal signal loss.

Suitable for

• Inter-rack and intra-rack connections in data centres
• High-performance computing and InfiniBand network links
• Server-to-switch and switch-to-switch optical runs
• Short- to medium-distance backbone and aggregation links

Key specifications

• Fibre type: OM4 multimode
• Core diameter: 50 µm
• Connectors: ST on both ends (male)
• Duplex configuration: full duplex (separate transmit and receive fibres)
• Cable length: 15 m
• Typical use: data centre and networking installations

How to use

Route the fibre cable along cable trays or designated fibre pathways avoiding tight bends and mechanical stress. Align and insert the ST connectors into corresponding transceiver or patch panel ports until the connector latches. Verify proper connector seating visually and by checking link status on connected equipment. Use dust caps when ports are not in use and clean connectors with appropriate fibre cleaning tools before installation to ensure low insertion loss and reliable performance.

Recommendations

Store and handle the fibre cable according to manufacturer guidance: avoid kinking, maintain minimum bend radius, and protect connector end-faces from contamination. For critical links, test insertion loss and return loss after installation and implement strain relief at connection points.
