Glasvezelkabel InfiniBand ShiverPeaks 77917/4 3m

The ShiverPeaks InfiniBand fibre optic cable 77917/4 is a 3 m multimode OM4 patch cable with SC connectors in violet. Designed for full duplex InfiniBand links, this cable provides a 50 µm core diameter fibre that supports high-speed, low-loss data transmission over short to medium distances. Its construction ensures good signal integrity and low attenuation, making it suitable for dense networking environments such as data centers and high-performance computing clusters.

Advantages

This OM4 fibre offers higher bandwidth density compared with lower-grade multimode fibres and is optimized for shortwave division multiplexing and high-data-rate InfiniBand implementations. The 3 m length is suitable for rack-to-rack or equipment-to-equipment connections within server rooms, and the SC connector type provides a push-pull mating design for secure and repeatable connections. Violet jacket colour simplifies identification in cabling bundles and structured cabling systems.

Suitable for

• InfiniBand interconnects in high-performance computing (HPC) clusters
• Data centre patching between switches, servers and storage arrays
• Short to medium reach fibre links within server racks and network cabinets
• Environments requiring OM4 multimode performance and clear cable identification

Key specifications

• Fibre type: OM4 multimode
• Core diameter: 50 µm
• Connector type: SC to SC (full duplex)
• Length: 3 m
• Jacket colour: violet
• Designed for InfiniBand high-speed links with low attenuation

How to use

Ensure both transceiver ports are compatible with OM4 multimode fibre and SC connectors before connecting. Route the 3 m cable avoiding sharp bends and tight bends below the manufacturer’s minimum bend radius to maintain optical performance. Insert each SC connector until it latches and verify full duplex orientation is correct for transmit and receive pairs. After installation, perform optical loss testing or continuity checks if required by your network validation procedures.

Recommendations

Store and handle the cable in a clean environment to prevent contamination of connector endfaces. For best results in data centre and HPC applications, pair OM4 fibre with compatible transceivers and maintain proper cable management to reduce stress and preserve signal quality.
