Glasvezelkabel S/CONN ShiverPeaks 07-500615

The S/CONN ShiverPeaks 07-500615 is a 7.5 m OM5 fibre optic cable with LC connectors on both ends and a 50 µm core diameter, designed for full duplex optical links. It supports high-speed data transmission over short and moderate distances, making it suitable for modern data centre and enterprise network environments where multimode performance and consistent signal integrity are required.

Advantages

This OM5 fibre cable provides broad wavelength performance optimized for shortwave multiplexing and high-bandwidth applications. The LC-to-LC configuration ensures compact connector density and straightforward mating with LC ports. With a 50 µm multimode core and full duplex capability, the cable enables symmetric transmit and receive channels for reliable link behaviour. The 7.5 m length offers convenient reach in racks, cabinets, and patch panels without excessive slack.

Suitable for

• Data centre patching and horizontal cabling
• High-speed server-to-switch and switch-to-switch links
• Multimode fibre networks requiring OM5 performance
• Shortwave division multiplexing and bandwidth-intensive applications

Key specifications

• Cable type: OM5 multimode fibre
• Length: 7.5 metres
• Connector type: LC on both ends (duplex)
• Core diameter: 50 µm multimode
• Mode: Full duplex optical transmission

How to use

Connect each LC connector into the corresponding LC port on the devices or patch panels, observing correct polarity for transmit and receive channels. Route the cable through the rack or cable management system to avoid sharp bends and mechanical stress. Ensure connectors are clean prior to mating to maintain signal quality; use appropriate cleaning tools or procedures if necessary. Verify link status with network diagnostics or optical test equipment after installation.

Recommendations

For optimal performance, maintain bend radii above manufacturer minimums, keep connectors protected when not in use, and avoid tensile strain. Use the cable in environments compatible with OM5 multimode fibre specifications and pair with corresponding LC ports and multimode transceivers. Regular inspection and cleaning of fiber endfaces will help preserve low insertion loss and reliable communication.
