Glasvezelkabel ShiverPeaks BS07-510515 5m SC groen

The ShiverPeaks BS07-510515 5m SC Green is an OM5 multimode fibre optic patch cable designed for high-speed duplex data transmission. With a 50 µm core diameter and SC connectors on both ends, this 5-metre cable supports standard multimode links used in networking and data centre environments. The green jacket identifies the OM5 classification and helps distinguish it from other fibre types during installation and maintenance.

Advantages

The cable provides consistent multimode performance across a broad spectrum, enabling reliable short- to medium-range links. SC connectors offer stable, push-pull coupling with low insertion loss and good repeatability. The 5 m length is suitable for rack-to-rack or equipment-to-patch-panel connections while the robust jacket improves mechanical protection and handling. Colour-coding simplifies cable management in complex installations.

Suitable for

• Data centre patching between switches, servers and patch panels
• Local area network (LAN) multimode links
• Short- to medium-range backbone or horizontal cabling
• Environments requiring OM5 multimode performance and colour-coded identification

Key specifications

• Fibre type: OM5 multimode
• Core diameter: 50 µm
• Connector type: SC to SC (both ends)
• Cable length: 5 metres
• Duplex support: full duplex transmission
• Jacket colour: green (OM5 identification)

How to use

Inspect both SC connector endfaces for cleanliness before insertion and clean if necessary using appropriate fibre cleaning tools. Align and insert each SC connector into the corresponding adapter or port until it clicks, ensuring correct polarity for duplex links. Route the cable along designated cable trays or management channels, avoiding sharp bends and tension that could affect optical performance. For removal, depress the SC latch and pull the connector straight out to avoid damaging the ferrule or adapter.

Recommendations

Store and install the cable in controlled environments to prevent contamination and physical stress. Maintain minimum bend radius as specified for multimode fibre, and use labelled patch panels to preserve the OM5 green identification. Regularly inspect connector endfaces and replace the cable if the jacket or connectors show significant wear.
