Heggenschaar Makita DUH751Z

The Makita DUH751Z hedge trimmer is an 18V battery-powered tool designed to deliver cordless convenience for routine hedge and shrub maintenance. Weighing approximately 4.5 kg and measuring 1261 mm in length with a 225 mm cutting width, this model balances reach and control to make trimming tasks more manageable. Battery operation eliminates the need for an extension cord and reduces trip hazards, while the compact dimensions support work in tighter garden spaces and along fence lines.

Advantages

The lightweight construction and balanced layout reduce operator fatigue during extended use. Cordless operation provides mobility and easy access to areas without nearby power outlets. The 225 mm cutting width allows precise trimming of hedgerows and bushes, while the overall length improves reach for taller or deeper shrubs. The product's simple design supports straightforward maintenance and part replacement.

Suitable for

• Trimming residential hedges and formal garden borders
• Shaping small to medium shrubs and topiary
• Maintenance of hedge lines along fences and pathways
• Light commercial groundskeeping where cordless tools are preferred

Key specifications

• Power source: 18V battery (battery not included)
• Weight: approximately 4.5 kg (tool only)
• Overall length: 1261 mm
• Cutting blade width: 225 mm
• Design: cord-free hedge trimmer with two-handed controls

How to use

Ensure a compatible 18V battery is fully charged and correctly fitted before operation. Hold the hedge trimmer with both hands, keeping the front handle to guide cutting direction and the rear handle for throttle control. Position the blade so that it moves smoothly along the hedge, using steady, controlled passes. Avoid forcing the blades through thick branches that exceed the tool's cutting capability; reduce branch size with appropriate pruning tools first. After completing trimming, switch off the tool, remove the battery, and clean debris from the blades before storage.

Recommendations

For safe and effective operation, wear appropriate personal protective equipment such as gloves, eye protection, and sturdy footwear. Use the tool in dry conditions and avoid contact with hidden objects like wire or fencing that could damage the cutting blades. Store the trimmer in a dry place and follow the manufacturer's guidelines for battery care to maximize runtime and service life.
