Helly Hansen LIFA Merino Midweight Crew baselayer bovenstuk - heren zwart XL

On a biting cold morning at the ski resort, you pull on the Helly Hansen LIFA Merino Midweight Crew and feel immediate warmth without bulk. This men's base layer top combines the moisture-wicking power of LIFA® polypropylene next to your skin with the natural insulation and odor resistance of ZQ-certified Merino wool on the outside. The two-layer construction keeps you dry and comfortable during high-output activities like skiing, hiking, or mountaineering in freezing conditions. Flatlock seams prevent chafing, while the regular fit and crew neck offer easy layering under midlayers or shells. Whether you're carving turns or trekking through snow, this top delivers reliable thermal regulation and breathability.

Why choose it

The LIFA® Merino Midweight Crew excels in cold-weather performance. Its dual-layer system moves sweat away from your skin while trapping warm air in the Merino wool, keeping you warm even when wet. The non-itch, soft Merino wool ensures all-day comfort, and the natural odor resistance means you can wear it multiple times between washes. The regular fit allows freedom of movement without excess fabric, making it ideal as a base layer under technical outerwear.

Ideal use cases

• Skiing and snowboarding in sub-zero temperatures
• Winter hiking and snowshoeing
• Mountaineering and alpine climbing
• Cold-weather running or cycling
• Everyday winter wear under casual clothing

Good to know

This base layer is made with non-mulesed Merino wool, supporting ethical sourcing. The LIFA® fibers are hydrophobic, ensuring rapid drying and preventing clamminess. For best results, machine wash cold and lay flat to dry. The XL size fits chest 42-44 inches. Pair with Helly Hansen midlayers and shells for a complete cold-weather system.
