Beveiligingscamera Hikvision DS-2CD2183G2-LIS2U 4mm IP-camera

The Hikvision DS-2CD2183G2-LIS2U 4mm IP Camera is an 8MP surveillance camera designed for continuous monitoring in residential, commercial and light industrial environments. It delivers high-resolution video with advanced image processing and H.265+ compression to reduce storage and bandwidth requirements. The camera features infrared illumination for low-light and night operation and a weatherproof housing for reliable outdoor performance.

Advantages

This IP camera provides clear 8MP video that captures fine detail for identification and evidence purposes. H.265+ compression balances image quality with efficient use of storage and network resources. Built-in IR LEDs and optimized image algorithms improve low-light performance while maintaining color accuracy during the day. The camera’s durable, weather-resistant housing supports outdoor installation and reduces maintenance needs. Integrated features such as motion detection and remote access simplify monitoring and event-driven recording.

Suitable for

• Perimeter and outdoor property monitoring
• Retail, office and reception area surveillance
• Parking lots and access points
• Home security and small business protection

Key specifications

• Image sensor: 8MP high-resolution sensor
• Lens: 4 mm fixed focal length for a medium-wide field of view
• Video compression: H.265+ for reduced storage and bandwidth
• Night vision: Infrared illumination for low-light and night recording
• Weather resistance: IP-rated housing suitable for outdoor use
• Analytics: Motion detection and basic event triggering
• Connectivity: IP network camera with remote access capability

How to use

Mount the camera using appropriate fixtures at the chosen location, ensuring the lens has an unobstructed view of the monitored area. Connect the device to a PoE-capable switch or provide power and network connectivity according to installation requirements. Configure video resolution, compression settings and motion detection thresholds through the camera’s web interface or compatible NVR/software. Verify day and night image quality and adjust orientation or angle if necessary to cover critical areas.

Recommendations

Position the camera at a height that minimizes tampering while preserving the intended field of view; for wide-area coverage choose a higher mounting point and for facial/detail identification mount it lower and closer. Use H.265+ to optimize storage, and set motion detection zones to reduce false alarms from moving vegetation or traffic. Regularly clean the lens and check seals on the housing to maintain image clarity and weather resistance.
