Hoofdtelefoon Beyerdynamic DT 990

The Beyerdynamic DT 990 is an open-back headphone designed for audio enthusiasts who seek detailed sound and long-term comfort. Handcrafted in Germany from quality materials, the DT 990 combines clear high frequencies, powerful bass response and a robust build with a comfortable soft headband pad and single-sided cable terminated with a gold-plated 3.5 mm mini stereo jack and included 6.35 mm adapter. With a wide frequency range and circumaural ear coupling, it is suitable for extended listening sessions.

Advantages

The open-back design provides an expansive soundstage and natural treble reproduction while strong bass and treble balance maintain clarity across genres. A robust spring steel headband and soft headband pad ensure stable, comfortable wear; the single-sided 3 m cable reduces tangling and the gold-plated connectors offer reliable signal transfer. Handcrafted construction supports consistent build quality.

How to use

Connect the gold-plated 3.5 mm plug to your audio source or use the included 6.35 mm adapter for amplifier and interface inputs. Place the circumaural ear cups over your ears and adjust the spring steel headband for a secure but comfortable fit. For critical listening, allow the headphones to settle on the head for a few minutes to achieve optimal seal and positioning. Keep the single-sided cable untangled and routed to minimize strain on the connector during use.

Recommendations

For best performance, pair the DT 990 with an appropriate headphone amplifier or a high-quality output device, especially with high-impedance versions. Avoid using open-back headphones in noisy or public environments where sound leakage or external noise may be an issue.
