IBM LTO Ultrium 7 BaFe datacassette-bibliotheekpack (20-pack) 38L7315

For archival workloads that demand both capacity and longevity, this IBM LTO Ultrium 7 library pack delivers twenty barium ferrite (BaFe) data cartridges. BaFe media offers superior magnetic stability and a 30+ year archival life, making it a dependable choice for long-term retention where data integrity is non-negotiable.

Highlights

• Native capacity: 6 TB per cartridge, up to 15 TB compressed (2.5:1)
• Native transfer rate: 300 MB/s, up to 750 MB/s compressed
• Barium ferrite (BaFe) media for enhanced durability and archival stability
• Hardware-based AES 256-bit encryption for data security
• WORM (Write Once Read Many) support for compliance and tamper-proof storage
• 20 cartridges per library pack, ready for automated tape libraries

In daily use

Each cartridge stores 6 TB natively, scaling to 15 TB with compression, and reads back at 300 MB/s native. The green cartridge shell is colour-coded for LTO Ultrium 7, simplifying media identification in mixed-generation libraries. The pack is optimised for IBM LTO Ultrium 7 tape drives and libraries, and is also read-compatible with LTO Ultrium 8 drives, providing a bridge for migration scenarios.
