ICY BOX ICY BOX IB-2240SK - behuizing voor opslagstations met ventilator - 2.5 (6.4 cm)

The ICY BOX IB-2240SSK is a 5.25" storage drive tray for 2.5" HDDs and SSDs that holds up to four drives with a maximum height of 15 mm. The unit has a robust aluminium case in black and measures approximately 146 mm (W) × 181 mm (D) × 42 mm (H). The package contains one tray and two lock keys for secure storage and transport.

Advantages

The aluminium housing improves heat dissipation while two integrated 40 mm fans provide active cooling to reduce thermal load during continuous operation. Data transfer uses SATA III and a SAS-compatible chipset for reliable performance, and power is supplied through the SATA power connector so no additional power cable is required. A status LED indicates drive activity and can be switched off. The tray also includes an acoustic alarm to signal drive failure or overheating.

Suitable for

• Installing up to four 2.5" HDDs or SSDs (max height 15 mm)
• Small form-factor desktop PCs and workstations with a 5.25" bay
• Home or office backup and storage consolidation
• Systems requiring active cooling for multiple 2.5" drives

How to use

Install the IB-2240SSK into an available 5.25" drive bay in your PC or workstation. Mount each 2.5" HDD or SSD into the tray bays following the drive alignment, connect each drive with the host SATA data cable and provide power via the SATA power connection. Ensure the tray is securely fixed in the bay and reconnect system power. Configure the drives in your operating system or RAID controller as required.

Recommendations

Position the tray where airflow in the chassis is sufficient and avoid obstructing the two 40 mm fans. Keep the system firmware and drivers up to date. If you expect sustained high load, monitor drive temperatures and enable the acoustic alarm to be alerted to failures or overheating.
