IP-camera Hikvision DS-2CD1021G2-LIU 2MP 2,8 mm vast brandpunt, PoE, H.265+

The Hikvision DS-2CD1021G2-LIU is a compact IP camera offering 2 MP (1080p) resolution with a 2.8 mm fixed lens. Designed for basic video surveillance, this model provides clear full HD footage in indoor environments and small commercial locations. The camera supports H.265+ video compression to reduce storage and bandwidth requirements and Power over Ethernet (PoE) to simplify installation and power delivery through a single network cable.

Advantages

This camera combines a small form factor with 1080p image quality and an ultra-wide-angle 2.8 mm fixed lens, making it suitable for covering moderate areas with a single unit. H.265+ compression decreases file sizes and lowers network load while retaining image detail. Built-in PoE support allows installation without a separate power adapter, reducing cabling complexity. The device offers reliable basic surveillance features needed for routine monitoring and integration with network video recorders.

Suitable for

• Indoor monitoring of small offices and retail spaces
• Home security in living rooms, hallways and entryways
• Supplementary coverage within DVR/NVR systems
• Environments where simple PoE installation is preferred

Key specifications

• Image sensor: 2 megapixels (1080p) for full HD recording
• Lens: 2.8 mm fixed wide-angle lens for broad field of view
• Video compression: H.265+ (advanced compression to save storage and bandwidth)
• Power delivery: Power over Ethernet (PoE) support for single-cable data and power
• Mounting: compact indoor form factor suitable for ceiling or wall installation
• Network integration: compatible with standard IP network video recorders and management software

How to use

Mount the camera in the desired indoor location using the included bracket or a compatible mounting accessory, aiming the 2.8 mm lens to cover the area of interest. Connect the camera to a PoE-enabled network switch or PoE injector with a single Ethernet cable to provide both power and network connectivity. Configure the camera through the network video recorder (NVR) or Hikvision-compatible management software, set the desired resolution and H.265+ compression settings, and adjust exposure and image parameters as needed for the environment.

Recommendations

Position the camera to avoid direct sunlight or strong backlighting in the field of view to maintain image quality. Use PoE switches or certified injectors to ensure stable power delivery. For longer retention periods, pair H.265+ compression with appropriately sized network storage on an NVR or NAS device. If wider coverage is needed, consider cameras with different focal lengths or multiple units to eliminate blind spots.
