IP-camera Hikvision DS-2CD23166G3-IS2UY/SL 16 MP, 2,8mm-objectief, IR, PoE

The Hikvision DS-2CD23166G3-IS2UY/SL is a 16MP IP surveillance camera with a fixed 2.8mm wide-angle lens, integrated infrared illumination and Power over Ethernet (PoE) support. Engineered for both indoor and outdoor deployment, the camera provides high-resolution video suitable for detailed monitoring of entrances, retail spaces, offices and perimeter areas. Network connectivity enables continuous recording and remote viewing through compatible NVRs or video management software.

Advantages

The camera delivers ultra-high 16MP resolution for clear identification of faces and license plates at close to medium range and retains fine detail when digitally zoomed. Built-in IR LEDs provide illumination for low-light and no-light conditions, while the 2.8mm lens offers a broad field of view for covering wide areas with a single unit. PoE compatibility simplifies installation by combining power and data over a single Ethernet cable, reducing the need for separate power wiring.

Suitable for

• Retail stores and shopping areas requiring high-detail monitoring
• Office interiors and reception zones
• Building entrances, lobbies and corridors
• Perimeter and outdoor coverage in small to medium sites
• Continuous recording and remote surveillance setups

Key specifications

• Optical resolution: 16 megapixels
• Fixed lens focal length: 2.8 mm (wide-angle)
• Infrared illumination for night and low-light visibility
• Power over Ethernet (PoE) support for combined power/data
• Designed for indoor and outdoor installation
• Network camera with remote viewing and recording capability

How to use

Mount the camera at the chosen location ensuring a clear line of sight to the monitored area and adhere to recommended mounting height for the intended coverage. Connect the camera to your network switch or NVR using an Ethernet cable; if using PoE, a single PoE-enabled port supplies both power and network data. Configure IP settings, recording schedule and motion detection through the camera’s web interface or compatible management software, and verify image framing and IR performance in both daylight and low-light conditions.

Recommendations

For reliable long-term performance, use a properly rated outdoor junction box or protective housing when installing in exposed environments, and ensure the network switch or PoE injector matches the camera’s power requirements. Periodically check lens cleanliness and firmware updates via the manufacturer’s support resources to maintain image quality and security.
