IP-camera Hikvision DS-2CD2383G2-LI2U/SL 8 MP, vast objectief 2,8 mm, IR-verlichting, PoE

The Hikvision DS-2CD2383G2-LI2U/SL is an 8 MP fixed-lens IP camera with a 2.8 mm lens, integrated infrared illumination and Power over Ethernet (PoE) support. Designed for both indoor and outdoor use, the camera provides high-resolution video suitable for detailed monitoring, remote viewing and recording. The compact fixed design and PoE capability simplify installation by combining power and data over a single cable while the IR illumination extends effective surveillance into low-light and nighttime conditions.

Advantages

The camera captures 8 MP resolution video, offering clear image detail for identification and evidence. Its wide-angle 2.8 mm fixed lens provides broad coverage without mechanical moving parts, reducing maintenance. Built-in IR illumination enables night-time monitoring with consistent image quality in low light. PoE support streamlines installation and reduces cabling complexity, and the camera's weather-resistant housing is suitable for a range of environments. The device supports standard network video workflows for remote access and recording.

Suitable for

• Retail stores and shop floors requiring high-detail surveillance
• Office interiors and common areas for general security monitoring
• Building entrances, corridors and parking areas for wide-angle coverage
• Remote monitoring setups using PoE-powered network systems

Key specifications

• Image resolution: 8 megapixels for high-detail video capture
• Lens: fixed 2.8 mm wide-angle lens
• Illumination: integrated infrared LEDs for low-light/night vision
• Network power: Power over Ethernet (PoE) support for combined power and data
• Mounting: compact fixed camera housing suitable for wall or ceiling installation
• Use environment: suitable for indoor and outdoor applications with protective housing

How to use

Install the camera at the chosen vantage point on a stable wall or ceiling using appropriate mounting hardware. Connect the camera to a PoE-enabled switch or injector with a compatible Ethernet cable to supply power and network connectivity. Configure network settings and user access via the camera's web interface or an NVR/software that supports Hikvision devices. Position the camera to cover the desired area, verify focus and field of view on the monitoring system, and enable IR or low-light modes as needed for nighttime recording.

Recommendations

For reliable operation, use a PoE switch that meets the camera's power requirements and ensure the network is secured with strong credentials and firmware kept up to date. Place the camera at a height and angle that minimize direct exposure to intense light sources to reduce glare and reflections. Regularly check lens cleanliness and perform firmware and configuration backups to maintain consistent monitoring performance.
