IP-camera Hikvision DS-2CD2586G2-IS met 2,8 mm vaste brandpuntsafstand

Hikvision DS-2CD2586G2-IS is an IP camera with a 2.8 mm fixed lens designed for wide-angle video surveillance. The camera supports network connectivity for remote access and continuous recording, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor monitoring where a broad field of view is required. Its compact form factor and fixed focal length simplify installation and alignment for applications that need reliable, always-ready coverage.

Advantages

The camera provides a wide-angle view through its 2.8 mm fixed lens, enabling coverage of larger areas with a single unit. Network capability allows live viewing and recording over IP, facilitating centralized monitoring and remote access. The device is built for consistent operation in typical surveillance environments and is suitable for mounting in constrained spaces thanks to its compact design.

Suitable for (tasks / use cases)

• General indoor monitoring of offices, retail areas, and corridors
• Outdoor surveillance of entrances, parking areas, and building perimeters
• Monitoring of common areas in residential complexes and public facilities
• Integration into networked CCTV systems for remote viewing and recording

Key specifications

• Optics: 2.8 mm fixed focal length for wide-angle coverage
• Camera type: Network (IP) camera for digital video transmission
• Mounting: Compact housing suitable for wall or ceiling installation
• Environmental suitability: Designed for indoor and outdoor use where weather protection is provided by the installation location
• Connectivity: Network-enabled for remote access and centralized recording

How to use

Install the camera on a stable surface or bracket at the desired height and orientation to achieve the intended coverage area. Connect the device to the local network using the appropriate network cable and configure network settings through the camera's web interface or supported management software. Adjust focus and field of view if necessary by positioning the camera; the fixed 2.8 mm lens requires physical repositioning for framing changes. Set recording schedules, motion detection, and storage options according to monitoring needs.

Recommendations

Place the camera to maximize unobstructed sightlines and avoid direct exposure to strong light sources to reduce glare. Ensure network security by using strong passwords and up-to-date firmware. For outdoor installations, use weatherproof housings or sheltered mounting points when required by the installation environment. Regularly check recording settings and storage capacity to maintain continuous surveillance.
