Irix Edge UV Protector SR 55mm super resistent optisch glasfilter met 16-laags coating, slank geanodiseerd aluminium frame, >99,5% lichtdoorlaatbaarheid

Outdoor photographers know the frustration of hazy, washed-out images and the constant worry of a scratched front element. The Irix Edge UV Protector SR 55mm eliminates both concerns. Mounted on your 55mm-thread lens, its Super Resistant optical glass blocks ultraviolet light that causes distant haze and bluish casts, while a 16-layer multi-coating (8 per side) preserves exceptional clarity and contrast. The result: crisp, neutral images straight from the camera, with no colour shift.

Why choose it

This filter is built for demanding environments. The SR optical glass withstands impacts and abrasions far better than standard filters, while the hydrophobic and oleophobic coatings cause water droplets and fingerprints to bead up and wipe away effortlessly. The anti-static layer repels dust and lint, keeping the surface cleaner for longer. The slim anodized aluminum frame adds minimal bulk and prevents vignetting on wide-angle lenses, and its front thread allows stacking additional filters or a lens cap.

Ideal use cases

• Landscape and travel photography where UV haze is common
• Permanent lens protection for everyday shooting
• High-humidity or dusty environments (coastal, desert, industrial)
• Wide-angle lenses where slim profile prevents vignetting
• Any photographer who wants zero colour shift and maximum clarity

Good to know

The Irix Edge UV Protector SR 55mm is colour-neutral and has a filter factor of 1, so no exposure compensation is required. It is compatible with any lens featuring a 55mm filter thread.
