Kabeldoorvoerinzetstuk Rittal SZ 4318.000, polypropyleen, wit, voor 1 kabel tot 47 mm

Rittal SZ 4318.000 is a white cable gland insert made from polypropylene (PP) designed for a single cable entry with a maximum cable diameter of 47 mm. Supplied in packs of 25, this insert fits into enclosure openings to provide strain relief, mechanical protection, and a tidy, sealed transition between cables and electrical cabinets, control panels or industrial enclosures.

Advantages

The polypropylene construction offers chemical resistance, dimensional stability and low weight while maintaining insulating properties suitable for electrical installations. The insert is designed for easy installation and provides a reliable seal around a single large-diameter cable up to 47 mm, helping to reduce mechanical stress at the entry point and protect cables from abrasion. Its white colour allows for neutral visual integration in light-coloured cabinets and panels.

Suitable for

When it may not be suitable

This polypropylene insert is intended for mechanical protection and basic sealing; it does not provide specific electromagnetic shielding or high-level environmental sealing such as IP69-rated ingress protection on its own. For installations requiring metal armour bonding, grounding, or very high chemical or temperature resistance, a different material or a specialized gland may be more appropriate.

How to use

Insert the gland into the prepared cut-out or mounting hole in the enclosure, ensuring the opening matches the insert profile. Pass the cable through the insert and position it so the gland provides a snug fit around the cable circumference. Secure the cable as required by the enclosure design, verify mechanical retention and check that the insert sits flush to maintain a neat entry. Follow standard wiring and safety procedures while installing inside live electrical cabinets should be done only by qualified personnel.

What to consider before purchase

Recommendations

For reliable performance, measure cable diameter including any outer sleeves or connectors before selection, ensure the enclosure cut-out is clean and correctly sized, and pair the insert with suitable grommets or additional sealing accessories if higher ingress protection is required. Use qualified personnel for installation in live electrical systems.
