The ShiverPeaks BS51100-2 wire connector is a compact 3.5 mm male audio connector in black, supplied as a pack of two. It is intended for creating or repairing audio leads and connecting portable audio devices, headphones adapters or extension cables where a standard 3.5 mm male plug is required. The design focuses on a simple, robust mechanical connection and compatibility with common 3.5 mm female sockets.

Advantages

The connector offers a standard 3.5 mm male form factor that fits most consumer audio jacks and ensures straightforward compatibility with mobile devices, laptops and audio equipment. The black finish provides a neutral appearance that blends with existing cables and devices. Supplied as a pair, the pack supports simultaneous replacements or the assembly of two separate cables. The product is designed for reliable contact and repeated insertions, reducing the need for frequent replacements.

Suitable for

• Repairing or assembling headphone and earphone cables
• Creating audio extension leads and adapters
• Connecting portable audio players, smartphones and laptops to external speakers
• DIY audio projects and simple electronics prototyping

Key specifications

• Connector type: 3.5 mm male audio plug
• Pack quantity: 2 connectors
• Colour: black
• Application: analog stereo audio connections

How to use

Prepare the cable by stripping the outer insulation to expose the inner conductors and separate the left, right and ground wires. Slide any required heat-shrink tubing or housing parts onto the cable before soldering. Solder the appropriate conductors to the connector terminals following standard wiring conventions (tip = left, ring = right, sleeve = ground) and ensure secure mechanical strain relief before closing the housing. Test the connection with a compatible 3.5 mm female jack to confirm audio signal continuity.

Recommendations

Use basic soldering tools and proper ventilation when assembling the connector. For best longevity, avoid excessive bending at the cable exit and secure solder joints with insulating sleeve or heat-shrink. Verify wiring polarity and insulation before use to prevent short circuits.
