Kleurpotlood Staedtler 146C C12

The Staedtler 146C C12 colour pencil is a German-made artist-grade pencil designed for precise coloring and sketching. It features richly pigmented lead that delivers consistent, vivid colour laydown and a hexagonal wooden barrel that supports a comfortable, non-rolling grip. The pencil sharpens cleanly to a fine point for detailed work and provides good lightfastness to help maintain colour integrity over time.

Advantages

The pencil combines high-quality pigments with a firm yet smooth core that resists breakage while allowing controlled blending and layering. Its hexagonal shape improves handling during extended use and prevents the pencil from rolling off work surfaces. Manufactured with attention to material quality, the pencil offers reliable performance for a range of techniques, from precise line work to full-area shading.

Suitable for

• Detailed sketching and line work
• Colouring books and illustration
• Layering and blending techniques
• Student art classes and hobby projects

Key specifications

• Country of manufacture: Germany
• Barrel shape: Hexagonal
• Pigment type: High-quality colour pigments
• Core: Firm, break-resistant coloured lead
• Sharpening: Easy to sharpen to a fine point
• Lightfastness: Good resistance to fading

How to use

Hold the hexagonal barrel between fingers for a steady grip and sharpen the pencil with a standard craft or pencil sharpener to achieve a fine point for detail. Apply light layers to build up colour intensity gradually; use cross-hatching or circular motions for even coverage. For smoother blends, layer adjacent colours and use a light pressure when softening transitions. Store pencils horizontally or in a case to protect tips and maintain consistent performance.

Recommendations

To preserve pigment vibrancy, avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight and store finished works under UV-protective glass if framing. Use a quality sharpener and moderate pressure to reduce the risk of core breakage when sharpening. Combine with other Staedtler drawing media for harmonised results.
