Kloofbijl Fiskars X28 X-Series blad met M universeelmes

The Fiskars X28 splitting axe with X-Series blade and included M Utility knife is engineered for splitting logs and preparing firewood. The X-Series blade profile increases wedge action to separate wood fibers efficiently, while the long shaft provides greater swing power and reach for fewer strikes per log. The set combines a dedicated splitting tool with a compact utility knife for trimming kindling, cutting rope, or other small tasks around the yard.

Advantages

The X-Series blade geometry reduces sticking and improves splitting efficiency, lowering effort and making each swing more productive. The long, vibration-damping shaft enhances control and protects the user’s hands from shock. The included M Utility knife offers a safe, convenient cutting tool for detailed tasks, increasing overall versatility. Durable construction and corrosion-resistant materials ensure long service life under normal outdoor use.

Suitable for

• Splitting medium to large logs for firewood
• Homeowner and garden use
• Preparing kindling and trimming branches
• General outdoor cutting tasks using the M Utility knife

Key specifications

• Blade profile: X-Series wedge design for efficient splitting
• Shaft type: long handle for increased swing power and reach
• Included tool: M-size utility knife for small cutting jobs
• Handle properties: shock-absorbing to reduce vibration
• Intended material: designed for season-dried and green wood

How to use

Position the log on a stable chopping block and adopt a balanced stance with feet shoulder-width apart. Grip the long shaft with both hands and bring the axe over the shoulder for a controlled swing, aiming the X-Series blade at the desired split line. Use steady, deliberate strikes rather than excessive force; the blade geometry helps split fibers with fewer impacts. Use the M Utility knife for trimming bark, cutting twine or preparing kindling, keeping the blade folded or sheathed when not in use.

Recommendations

Wear appropriate personal protective equipment, such as safety glasses and gloves, and ensure bystanders are at a safe distance. Store the axe and utility knife in a dry place and periodically inspect the blade and handle for damage. For best results, split wood on a stable surface and avoid striking metal or hard objects that could damage the blade.
