Kunststofmodel REVELL Shio Type IX C Platinum Edition schaal 1/72

The REVELL Shio Type IX C Platinum Edition scale 1/72 is a plastic model kit designed for hobbyists and collectors who build and display historic naval submarines. The kit contains injection-moulded plastic parts to assemble a detailed miniature of the Type IX C submarine at a 1/72 scale. Components are supplied on sprues and require cutting, gluing and painting; accessories and paints are typically not included. Once completed, the model is suitable for display on shelves, within dioramas or as part of a larger collection of scale naval models.

Advantages

This 1/72 scale kit offers finely moulded hull and superstructure parts that reproduce characteristic details of the Type IX C. The Platinum Edition features improved surface finish and precise part fit to reduce the need for extensive sanding or filling. The scale allows for a balance between display presence and manageable assembly time, making the model practical for intermediate modellers while still offering visible detail for experienced builders.

How to use

Carefully remove parts from the sprues using a hobby knife or sprue cutter, clean up attachment points and follow the assembly instructions included in the kit. Use model glue formulated for plastic to join parts and allow sufficient drying time between steps. Apply primer before painting to ensure even paint adhesion, then finish with appropriate enamel or acrylic paints and optional weathering techniques. Small, precise brushes and magnification can help with fine details; allow the completed model to fully dry before handling or mounting in a display.

Recommendations

Use recommended modelling tools such as sprue cutters, hobby knives, plastic cement and fine brushes. Work in a well-ventilated area when using solvents, primers and paints. Follow safety guidance on tool and paint labels and store small parts away from children.
