The KWB 248110 twist drill bit is a single-piece, right-hand rotation HSS-Co drill designed for demanding drilling tasks. Manufactured to DIN 338 standards with a 5% cobalt alloy, this drill is suitable for alloyed and unalloyed steels, stainless steel (V2A/V4A), grey cast iron, cast steel, bronze and various plastics. A 135° point angle with a split point according to DIN 1412 C provides self-centring performance and reduces the tendency to skid during initial contact. The parallel shank ensures compatibility with a wide range of drilling machines and chucks.

How to use

Select the appropriate drilling speed for the workpiece material and secure the workpiece in a vise or with clamps to prevent movement. Fit the parallel shank into a suitable drill chuck or machine spindle and ensure proper clamping. For stainless steels and harder alloys, use cutting fluid or coolant to reduce heat and improve chip evacuation. Start drilling with moderate feed pressure; the split point helps centre the drill without a pilot hole, but for very accurate positioning a centre punch is recommended. Withdraw the drill periodically on deep holes to clear chips and allow cooling.
