Laptop-dock Gembird A-CM-COMBO9-02 USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C, HDMI, VGA, 3×USB-A, Gigabit Ethernet, 87W PD, grijs

The Gembird A-CM-COMBO9-02 laptop dock is a wired USB-C docking solution designed to expand connectivity for notebooks with a USB-C port. It uses USB 3.2 Gen 1 (5 Gbit/s) for data and supports up to 87 W USB Power Delivery to supply or charge a connected laptop. The dock provides one HDMI and one VGA video output (digital output supporting up to 3840×2160 where HDMI-compatible), three USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports for peripherals and a Gigabit Ethernet RJ-45 port for wired network access. The compact grey enclosure is suitable for home and office workspaces where additional display and peripheral connections are required.

Advantages

The dock consolidates multiple ports into a single USB-C connection, reducing cable clutter and enabling simultaneous use of displays, wired LAN and USB accessories. With USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, it supports high-speed data transfer for external drives and peripherals. Dual display outputs (HDMI and VGA) provide flexibility for both modern and legacy monitors or projectors. Integrated Gigabit Ethernet ensures stable wired network performance compared to wireless connections. The built-in USB Power Delivery option allows the dock to deliver up to 87 W to a connected laptop, simplifying power management at a workstation.

Suitable for

• Connecting one digital HDMI display and one analog VGA monitor or projector
• Expanding USB connectivity for external drives, keyboard, mouse and other peripherals
• Establishing a reliable wired network connection via Gigabit Ethernet
• Using a single USB-C port to consolidate power, video, network and peripherals at a desk

How to use

Connect the dock to a laptop USB-C port that supports data transfer and, if required, USB Power Delivery. Attach an HDMI cable to the HDMI output for a digital monitor or a VGA cable to the VGA output for an analog display; both outputs can be used according to the host system's display capabilities. Plug wired peripherals into the Type-A USB ports and connect the network cable to the RJ-45 port for wired internet access. Configure display settings and network adapters on the host operating system as needed to enable extended or mirrored displays and to select the wired network connection.

Recommendations

Use a USB-C port on the laptop that supports data and power delivery for full functionality. For the highest video resolution, connect via the HDMI output and ensure the host device and display support the target resolution. When using multiple high-bandwidth peripherals, connect the dock to a host USB-C port that offers sufficient bus power and bandwidth.
