Lindy 50m Fibre Optic Hybrid DisplayPort 1.2 naar HDMI 18G kabel

The Lindy Fibre Optic Hybrid DisplayPort 1.2 to HDMI 18G Cable (50m) is a single-length hybrid cable designed to extend DisplayPort video and audio signals up to 50 metres and connect directly to an HDMI display. The cable combines copper and fibre optic conductors in a narrow, flexible construction that enables long-distance transmission while maintaining signal integrity and reducing susceptibility to RF and EM interference. It includes a DisplayPort connector at the source end and a standard HDMI Type A connector at the display end, supporting direct plug-and-play installation without separate transmitter or receiver units.

Advantages

The hybrid design allows signal extension far beyond standard copper cables while preserving high-quality 4K UHD video at 3840x2160@60Hz 4:4:4 8-bit. Its immunity to electromagnetic and radio-frequency interference makes it suitable for use in electrically noisy environments such as factory floors and medical facilities. The cable’s slim, flexible jacket facilitates discreet routing through walls and conduits for neat AV installations in lecture theatres, meeting rooms, or public signage. Active signal conversion ensures compatibility with both dual-mode and non-dual-mode graphics cards and supports multi-monitor setups including AMD Eyefinity configurations.

Suitable for

• Long-distance AV links between a DisplayPort source and HDMI display (up to 50 m)
• Digital signage and public displays requiring 4K@60Hz quality
• Lecture theatres, conference rooms, and concealed wall installations
• Environments with high RF/EM interference such as factories or medical sites
• Multi-monitor setups and Eyefinity-style wide/aspect displays

How to use

Connect the DisplayPort end to the source device and the HDMI Type A end to the display. Ensure both devices are powered and set the display input to the HDMI port. The cable performs active conversion between DisplayPort 1.2 and HDMI 18G, so no external converter, transmitter, or receiver is required. For multi-monitor or Eyefinity configurations, configure the graphics card settings in the operating system to arrange displays and set the desired resolution and refresh rate.

Recommendations

Route the cable through conduits or wall cavities using its flexible, narrow profile to minimise visible cabling; avoid sharp bends and maintain the manufacturer’s recommended bend radius. In electrically noisy environments, verify interference mitigation by testing the signal under typical operating conditions. For best results with 4K@60Hz 4:4:4, ensure both source and display support the required resolution and colour sampling.
