For Z scale model railroaders seeking a modern electric locomotive in a distinctive Swedish livery, the Märklin 088238 delivers a finely detailed BR 193 in Snälltåget colours. This model captures the Siemens Vectron prototype with a die-cast metal chassis and plastic body, ensuring both durability and intricate detailing. The 5-pole motor powers all four axles, with two traction tires for reliable pulling power on gradients. Directional LED headlights in warm white and red enhance realism, while the dark nickel-plated wheel rims and non-functional pantographs add to the authentic appearance. Designed for analog control, this locomotive operates on a minimum radius of 145 mm and features special Z scale couplers. As an Insider Club model, it is a limited edition for collectors.

Tips

When operating this locomotive, ensure your track radius is at least 145 mm to prevent derailments. The traction tires improve adhesion on grades, but avoid excessive loads to prolong their life. For realistic operation, consider pairing with appropriate Snälltåget passenger cars. As an analog model, it can be used on any Z scale layout with a standard DC power pack.
