Mechanisch gaming-toetsenbord genesis Thor 230 TKL Hot-Swap – tenkeyless compacte layout

The genesis Thor 230 TKL is a mechanical gaming keyboard with a tenkeyless compact layout and hot-swap switch sockets. Designed for users who need a smaller footprint on the desk, it preserves essential gaming and typing keys while omitting the numeric keypad. Hot-swap capability lets you change mechanical switches quickly without soldering, enabling customized key feel and straightforward maintenance.

Advantages

The tenkeyless compact layout reduces desk space usage and improves mouse movement range, making the keyboard suitable for competitive play and tight setups. Hot-swap sockets provide flexibility to experiment with different switch types—tactile, linear, or clicky—without technical tools. Mechanical switches deliver consistent key travel and responsiveness for gaming and extended typing sessions. The keyboard's compact form factor maintains standard key placement for familiar ergonomics while enabling easier transport and setup changes.

Suitable for

• Competitive gamers requiring a smaller desk footprint and more mouse space
• Users who want to personalize key feel by swapping mechanical switches
• Typists seeking durable mechanical key action with consistent travel
• People with limited desk space or those who transport keyboards frequently

Key specifications

• Layout: Tenkeyless (TKL) compact layout without numeric keypad
• Switch sockets: Hot-swap mechanical switch sockets for easy replacement
• Key type: Mechanical switches (user-replaceable)
• Form factor: Compact, portable design suitable for desktop setups
• Compatibility: Standard keyboard keycap and switch sizes for common mechanical switches

How to use

Connect the keyboard to a compatible computer using the provided cable or supported connection method. Use the standard layout for gaming and typing as you would with a full-size keyboard, while enjoying more mouse freedom thanks to the tenkeyless design. To change switches, power off the computer, remove the keycap with a keycap puller, and gently pull the switch from its hot-swap socket using a switch puller. Insert the new switch straight into the socket until it seats firmly, replace the keycap, and reconnect the keyboard.

Recommendations

For optimal performance, choose switch types that match your preferred tactile response and actuation force. When replacing switches, handle components gently and ensure the keyboard is disconnected from power to avoid damage. If you use custom keycaps, verify compatibility with the TKL layout and switch stem type.
