Antenne Albrecht Hurricane 27

The Albrecht Hurricane 27 is a high-performance 1000 mm radio antenna designed to improve CB radio reception and transmission. Built with durable materials and a weather-resistant finish, this antenna aims to provide stable signal quality and reliable communication over extended distances. Its compact but sturdy construction allows for outdoor mounting on vehicles or fixed installations where consistent performance is required.

Advantages

The antenna combines a one-meter length with a construction optimized for 27 MHz CB frequencies, providing a balance between gain and mechanical resilience. Weather-resistant materials reduce corrosion and degradation from exposure, while the rigid design minimizes flexing and mechanical failure under wind or vibration. The unit is suitable for permanent or semi-permanent installation and is compatible with standard CB mounting systems.

How to use

Select a suitable mounting point that provides a clear line of sight where possible and minimizes obstructions. Install the antenna using a compatible mount, ensuring a solid electrical ground if required by the vehicle or installation type. Tighten mounting hardware to prevent movement but avoid over-torquing that could damage the antenna base. Connect the feedline to the antenna connector and check the antenna system with an SWR meter to tune the setup for optimal match and lowest standing wave ratio.

Recommendations

Regularly inspect the antenna and mounting hardware for corrosion or loosened fittings, especially after severe weather or long trips. Use appropriate weatherproofing at electrical connections and ensure coaxial cable routing avoids sharp bends and chafing. If SWR remains high after installation, verify ground connections and feedline integrity or consult a qualified technician for tuning and adjustment.
