NETGEAR GS108PP unmanaged Gigabit Ethernet (10/100/1000) Power over Ethernet (PoE) zwart

The NETGEAR GS108PP is an unmanaged gigabit Ethernet switch with eight 10/100/1000 RJ-45 ports and integrated Power over Ethernet (PoE) support. Designed for simple network expansion in small offices, retail environments and home labs, this compact black switch provides a switching capacity of 16 Gbit/s and maintains a MAC address table of 4000 entries for efficient traffic forwarding. Compliant with common IEEE networking standards, the unit supports energy-efficient operation and offers both wall-mount and rack-mount installation options for flexible placement.

Advantages

The GS108PP delivers plug-and-play operation without the need for configuration, ensuring rapid deployment. With PoE support meeting IEEE 802.3af and 802.3at standards, the switch powers compatible devices such as access points and VoIP phones directly over Ethernet cabling. A compact metal housing in black improves durability and heat dissipation while the unmanaged design reduces maintenance and administrative overhead.

Suitable for

• Small office and home office network expansion
• Powering PoE-enabled devices like IP cameras, wireless access points and VoIP phones
• Retail and point-of-sale network segments requiring simple switching
• Laboratory or workshop environments for wired gigabit connectivity

How to use

Install the GS108PP on a stable surface, mount it on a wall or install into a rack using the provided accessories if applicable. Connect standard Cat5e or Cat6 cables from your network router or switch to any of the gigabit RJ-45 ports. Connect PoE-capable devices directly to the ports that provide PoE power; the switch will automatically detect and supply power to compatible devices. No configuration is required—devices obtain network connectivity and power immediately after physical connections are made.

Recommendations

Use Cat5e or Cat6 cabling for reliable gigabit performance and ensure total PoE power budget requirements of connected devices do not exceed the switch’s available PoE capacity. Place the switch in a well-ventilated area to allow heat dissipation, and avoid exposure to moisture or extreme temperatures. For installations requiring traffic management or VLAN segmentation, consider using a managed switch instead.
