Netwerkadapter RJ-45 ShiverPeaks BS08-01046

The ShiverPeaks BS08-01046 Cable Gender Changer RJ-45 is a compact adapter that converts the connector gender of standard Ethernet cables. Featuring two RJ-45 female ports in a robust black housing, this gender changer enables direct connection between two cables without the need for a patch panel or new cable runs. The device is intended to maintain a straightforward physical link for 8P8C Ethernet connections in home and small office networks.

Advantages

This RJ-45 gender changer provides a simple and space-saving solution for reversing connector gender, reducing cable clutter and avoiding unnecessary cable replacement. Its molded housing offers mechanical protection for contacts and wires while maintaining a low-profile connection point. The adapter supports standard Ethernet patching practices and is compatible with common twisted-pair cables used in data and network setups.

Suitable for

• Extending or joining two Ethernet patch cables
• Temporary network setups and troubleshooting
• Small office and home networking adjustments
• Situations where replacing a cable or re-terminating connectors is impractical

Key specifications

• Connector type: RJ-45 female to RJ-45 female
• Contact configuration: 8 positions, 8 contacts (8P8C)
• Housing color and material: black molded plastic
• Physical size: compact inline adapter suitable for tight spaces
• Compatibility: standard twisted-pair Ethernet cables (Cat5e/Cat6 typical use)

How to use

To use the gender changer, insert the RJ-45 plug of one Ethernet cable into one female port and the plug of the second cable into the opposite port until each latch clicks into place. Ensure connectors are seated fully to establish reliable contact. Once connected, route the joined cables as required, taking care to avoid sharp bends at the adapter. For disconnection, depress each plug latch and pull straight out to avoid damaging contacts or cable strain relief.

Recommendations

Use the adapter for short-term joins or routing adjustments rather than as a permanent inline extension where high-performance or shield continuity may be required. Keep the adapter dry and free of dust, and avoid exposing it to excessive mechanical stress. For shielded cable assemblies or environments with strict grounding requirements, verify compatibility with shielded connectors and grounding practices before use.
