Netwerkantenne CradlePoint 170836-000 RP-SMA, dualband 2,4/5 GHz, 194 mm, antraciet

CradlePoint 170836-000 RP-SMA is a replacement external network antenna designed for compatible Cradlepoint Wi‑Fi routers and gateways. The single charcoal-coloured antenna supports dual-band wireless operation at 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, and its 194 mm length provides an extended element for improved reception and transmission. The antenna terminates in an RP‑SMA connector for direct attachment to devices with matching ports.

Advantages

This antenna offers dual-band coverage for common 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz WLAN bands, enabling broader frequency compatibility with modern access points and client devices. The RP‑SMA connection ensures a secure and straightforward attachment to compatible Cradlepoint devices without adapters. With a 194 mm length and an external form factor, it can help improve signal reach and stability in situations where built-in antennas are limited. The charcoal finish provides a neutral look suitable for office and industrial environments.

Suitable for

• Improving wireless coverage and signal quality on compatible Cradlepoint routers and gateways
• Replacing a damaged or lost external RP‑SMA antenna on a Cradlepoint device
• Upgrading antenna performance in small offices, retail locations, or branch sites
• Temporary installations or field deployments requiring a detachable external antenna

Key specifications

• Frequency bands: 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz (dual-band)
• Connector type: RP‑SMA male for direct attachment
• Length: 194 mm
• Colour: charcoal
• Quantity: single antenna

How to use

Turn off the host Cradlepoint device or put it into a safe state if recommended by the device manual. Align the RP‑SMA connector on the antenna with the corresponding RP‑SMA port on the router or gateway and screw the antenna in gently until secure; avoid overtightening. Position the antenna vertically or at the angle that provides the best signal for your coverage area. After installation, power the device on and check signal strength and link stability using the device management interface or monitoring tools.

Recommendations

For optimal performance, place the antenna in a location with minimal obstructions and away from large metal objects and other sources of RF interference. If fine-tuning coverage is required, test different antenna orientations and positions. Use antennas with matching specifications on multi‑antenna systems to maintain proper balance and MIMO performance.
