Netwerkkabel Goobay CAT 8.1 Patchkabel RJ-45 Cat8.1 2m grijs

The Goobay CAT 8.1 Patch Cord RJ-45 Cat8.1 2m Grey is a 2-metre network cable designed for high-speed, low-latency data transmission in both home and professional networks. It uses RJ-45 connectors with gold plating and S/FTP shielding to reduce electromagnetic interference. The cable is constructed with high-purity conductors and a halogen-free sheath, offering a balance of performance and safety for demanding applications such as high-resolution video streaming and fast Ethernet links.

Advantages

This CAT 8.1 patch cord supports 40GBase-T cabling technology and is built with high-quality, oxygen-free copper conductors that ensure consistent signal quality and minimal loss. The S/FTP shielding reduces crosstalk and external interference, while the LSZH (halogen-free) sheath enhances fire safety by emitting fewer harmful gases if exposed to heat. The RJ-45 connectors feature gold plating for improved contact reliability and corrosion resistance, contributing to long-term durability.

Suitable for

• High-speed local area networks (LAN) and server connections
• Applications requiring 40GBase-T performance
• Transmission of high-resolution video such as 8K @ 60 Hz or 4K @ 120 Hz
• Workstations, switches, routers and patch panels in home or office environments

Key specifications

• Length: 2 m
• Connector type: RJ-45 to RJ-45
• Cabling technology: 40GBase-T
• Shielding: S/FTP (overall foil with individually braided+foil screened pairs)
• Conductor material: 99.9% oxygen-free copper (OFC), AWG 24
• Cable sheath: Low Smoke Zero Halogen (LSZH)
• Colour: Grey

How to use

Connect one RJ-45 plug to your network device (router, switch or network card) and the other plug to the target device or patch panel. Ensure connectors are fully seated until the latch clicks to guarantee a stable contact. Route the cable avoiding sharp bends and sources of strong electromagnetic interference for optimal performance. For fixed installations, secure the cable with appropriate clips or cable management accessories to prevent strain on the connectors.

Recommendations

Use this Cat 8.1 cable for short to medium runs within racks or between nearby network equipment where 40GBase-T performance or very low interference is required. Avoid running the cable in parallel with high-voltage power lines to minimise potential noise, and follow standard cable bend-radius recommendations to preserve conductor integrity.
