Netwerkkabel ShiverPeaks 75210-500 CAT5e F/UTP 500 m

ShiverPeaks Network Cable 75210-500 CAT5e F/UTP on a 500 m reel is a twisted-pair cable intended for Ethernet and structured cabling installations. The cable conforms to CAT5e performance parameters and features overall foil shielding (F/UTP) around the four pairs to reduce electromagnetic interference and crosstalk. Supplied on a 500 meter reel, it is suitable for long runs in LAN backbones, horizontal cabling and patching in both commercial and residential environments.

Advantages

The foil shield around all pairs enhances immunity to external EMI sources while preserving the flexibility needed for routing and terminations. CAT5e specification ensures support for Fast Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet over typical distances used in local area networks. The 500 m reel format simplifies installation for long cable runs and reduces the need for multiple smaller reels, improving efficiency on site.

Suitable for

• Local area network backbone and horizontal cabling
• Office and commercial building structured cabling
• Residential network installations and home offices
• Patch panels and patch cord terminations
• Environments requiring improved EMI protection compared to U/UTP cables

Key specifications

• Category: CAT5e performance class
• Shielding: F/UTP — overall foil shield around twisted pairs
• Conductor type: stranded or solid copper conductors (confirm selection for termination method)
• Length: 500 m reel
• Application: Ethernet, structured cabling, patching, backbone runs
• Suitable for use in commercial and residential indoor installations

How to use

Install the cable following standard structured cabling practices: unspool from the reel without twisting, route through cable trays or conduits as required, and maintain proper bend radius. Terminate the cable using compatible RJ45 connectors or patch panels designed for CAT5e F/UTP, taking care to remove the foil shield only as needed for connector grounding or drain wire connection. Test each link with an appropriate cable tester to verify continuity, pair mapping and performance up to CAT5e limits.

Recommendations

For best performance, avoid running the cable in parallel with high-voltage power lines, keep within manufacturer bend radius, and use shielded connectors or properly grounded panels when using shielded cable to preserve EMI protection.
