Netwerkkabel ShiverPeaks BS08-22010 0,5 m Cat6 U/UTP

The ShiverPeaks BS08-22010 0.5m Cat6 U/UTP is a short patch cable designed to support network connections with speeds up to 1000 Mbit/s. The cable uses an unshielded U/UTP Cat6 construction and terminated with RJ-45 connectors featuring gold-plated contacts to improve electrical contact and reduce corrosion. Its compact 0.5 m length and neutral grey jacket make it suitable for tidy connections between switches, routers, patch panels and nearby devices in home or office environments, where minimal signal loss and reliable link integrity are required.

Advantages

The cable provides Cat6 performance for gigabit Ethernet over a short distance, ensuring consistent throughput for devices that are physically close to each other. Gold-plated RJ-45 connectors offer improved conductivity and wear resistance compared with non-plated contacts. The unshielded U/UTP design keeps the cable flexible and easy to route in crowded patch areas while maintaining adequate performance for typical LAN setups. The short length helps reduce cable clutter and signal reflections associated with longer runs.

Suitable for

• Connecting a desktop or laptop to a nearby switch or router
• Patching between adjacent ports on a network switch or patch panel
• Short links in home network cabinets or office workstations
• Temporary network setups for testing or configuration tasks

Key specifications

• Category: Cat6 (U/UTP)
• Length: 0.5 m
• Maximum supported data rate: up to 1000 Mbit/s
• Connector type: RJ-45 with gold-plated contacts
• Cable color: grey

How to use

Connect one RJ-45 plug to the Ethernet port of your device and the other end to the switch, router or patch panel port. Ensure connectors are fully inserted until the latch clicks to provide a secure electrical connection. For best results, use this short Cat6 patch cable for links where devices are within close proximity and avoid unnecessary bending or tight kinks near the connector ends to preserve performance and connector integrity.

Recommendations

For stable gigabit operation, pair this short Cat6 U/UTP cable with appropriately rated network equipment and avoid running the cable parallel to high-power electrical wiring. Use for short, neat connections in racks or desktop setups and replace the cable if connector damage or excessive wear is observed.
