Netwerkkabel ShiverPeaks BS08-41054 rood 5m Cat8.1 F/FTP

The ShiverPeaks BS08-41054 Red 5m Cat8.1 F/FTP is a high-performance Ethernet cable designed for demanding wired networks. Compliant with Cat8.1 specifications, this 5‑metre cable uses F/FTP shielding to reduce electromagnetic interference and maintain signal integrity at high frequencies. Gold-plated RJ‑45 connectors provide secure contact and improved corrosion resistance, while the red jacket offers easy visual identification within network racks and home installations.

Advantages

The cable’s Cat8.1 performance enables higher bandwidth and lower latency compared with lower-category cables, supporting fast data transfer for modern network environments. F/FTP shielding around individual pairs and an overall foil wrap reduce crosstalk and external noise, improving reliability in crowded cable environments. Gold-plated RJ‑45 plugs improve long-term contact quality and reduce the risk of signal loss due to oxidation. The 5 m length balances reach and neat cable management for desktop, rack, or wall-mounted equipment.

Suitable for

• High-speed LAN connections between switches, routers and servers within racks or communications cabinets
• Home office setups requiring robust, low-latency wired connections for video conferencing and large file transfers
• Gaming PCs and consoles where low latency and stable throughput are important
• Small office or studio networks with multiple shielded cables in close proximity

Key specifications

• Category: Cat8.1, suitable for high-frequency Ethernet applications
• Shielding: F/FTP — overall foil plus individually shielded twisted pairs
• Length: 5 metres
• Connector type: RJ‑45 plugs with gold plating
• Cable colour: Red
• Intended use: Short-run patching and direct device connections in LAN environments

How to use

Connect one RJ‑45 end to the network interface of your device (switch, router, server, PC or console) and the other end to the corresponding port on the remote device. Ensure connectors are fully inserted until the latch clicks to secure the connection. Route the cable to avoid tight bends and prolonged compression; maintain gentle curves and avoid kinking to preserve shielding and internal pair geometry. For rack installations, use cable management panels or Velcro ties to keep the red cable visible and organised.

Recommendations

Use this Cat8.1 F/FTP cable in shielded or mixed-cable environments where interference could affect performance. Avoid running the cable parallel to high-voltage power lines for extended distances. For best results with high-bandwidth applications, pair with compatible high-speed switches and network interfaces that support the intended throughput and shielding benefits.
