Netwerkkabel ShiverPeaks Cat. 6 5 m

The ShiverPeaks Cat. 6 5m networking cable is a 5-metre U/UTP Ethernet cable designed for reliable wired connections in home and office environments. It uses Category 6 cabling standards to support high-speed data transmission and has RJ-45 connectors with gold-plated contacts for improved conductivity. The cable is black and constructed to maintain signal integrity over typical LAN distances while minimising interference in standard network setups.

Advantages

This Cat. 6 cable provides stable Gigabit-class performance for data, voice and video traffic over copper wiring. U/UTP shielding reduces near-end crosstalk and helps preserve transmission quality without requiring additional external shielding. Gold-plated RJ-45 connectors deliver consistent contact resistance and corrosion resistance for long-term reliability. The 5 m length offers flexibility for typical desktop, workstation and small-room routing scenarios.

Suitable for

• Connecting PCs, laptops and workstations to switches or routers
• Home networks for streaming and online gaming
• Office LAN cabling for printers, NAS and VoIP phones
• Temporary cabling at events or test setups requiring stable Ethernet links

Key specifications

• Cable category: Cat 6 (Category 6)
• Shielding: U/UTP (unshielded twisted pairs with overall unshielded jacket)
• Length: 5 metres
• Connector type: RJ-45, gold-plated contacts
• Colour: Black
• Typical supported speeds: up to Gigabit Ethernet (1000BASE-T) and suitable for 10/100/1000 Mbps networks

How to use

Plug one RJ-45 connector into the Ethernet port of your device and the other connector into a switch, router or wall outlet terminated for LAN use. Ensure connectors are fully inserted until the latch engages. Route the cable away from sources of strong electromagnetic interference such as heavy machinery, fluorescent lighting or unshielded power cables to maintain signal quality. For best results, avoid sharp bends and kinks and do not exceed the specified length for the intended performance class.

Recommendations

Use this ShiverPeaks Cat. 6 5m cable for short to medium runs within rooms or between adjacent racks. For installations requiring higher shielding or runs in electrically noisy environments, consider shielded cable types or conduit routing. Periodically inspect connectors for dust or damage and replace the cable if connectors or the jacket show wear that could affect connections.
