Netwerkkabel ShiverPeaks Cat 6 S/FTP PIMF 08-64036, 4-paars Ethernet-kabel

ShiverPeaks Network Cable Cat 6 S/FTP PIMF (model 08-64036) is a 4-pair Ethernet cable engineered for Gigabit networks and structured cabling. The cable delivers Category 6 performance with S/FTP shielding — an overall braided shield combined with individually foil‑shielded pairs — and a PIMF (pairs in metal foil) construction to reduce near‑end crosstalk and external electromagnetic interference. It is intended for reliable wired connections between switches, routers, patch panels and end devices in offices and data centre environments.

Advantages

The S/FTP shielding and PIMF design provide enhanced protection against external noise and mutual pair interference, improving signal integrity at higher data rates. Category 6 rating ensures support for Gigabit Ethernet and enhanced performance over older cable categories. The four twisted pairs with individual foil shields maintain consistent impedance and reduce packet loss and retransmissions in congested network environments.

Suitable for

• Gigabit Ethernet connections in office and data centre networks
• Structured cabling installations with shielded requirements
• Connections between switches, routers, patch panels and workstations
• Environments with moderate electromagnetic interference where shielded cabling is preferred

Key specifications

• Category: Cat 6 performance suitable for Gigabit Ethernet
• Conductor configuration: 4 twisted pairs
• Shielding: S/FTP (overall braid plus individually foil‑shielded pairs)
• PIMF: pairs in metal foil construction to reduce crosstalk
• Typical use: horizontal and patch cabling in offices and data centres

How to use

Terminate the cable using compatible Cat 6 compliant connectors or patch panels following standard T568A or T568B wiring schemes. Ensure the overall braided shield is properly terminated to the connector or panel grounding point to maintain the effectiveness of the S/FTP protection. Route the cable away from high‑voltage power lines and sources of interference where possible, and avoid sharp bends that exceed the manufacturer's minimum bend radius to preserve signal quality.

Recommendations

Use this cable in shielded or mixed environments where improved immunity to electromagnetic interference is required. For best performance, pair the cable with shielded connectors and properly grounded equipment; verify continuity of the shield after installation and test the link with appropriate network certification tools for Cat 6 compliance.
