Netwerkkabel ShiverPeaks Cat6 S/FTP 15m

The ShiverPeaks Cat6 S/FTP 15m networking cable delivers a 15-metre connection designed for structured cabling and point-to-point links in home and small office networks. Constructed to Cat6 performance parameters with S/FTP (overall braid with individually shielded pairs), the cable supports high-speed data transfer and reduces crosstalk and external interference. Gold-plated RJ-45 connectors improve contact reliability and resist corrosion. The cable's red jacket provides clear visual identification within cable runs and racks.

Advantages

S/FTP shielding provides enhanced protection against electromagnetic interference compared with unshielded and some foil-only constructions, helping to maintain signal integrity in electrically noisy environments. Cat6 specification ensures support for Gigabit Ethernet and multigigabit links over typical office and residential distances. Gold-plated RJ-45 plugs offer lower contact resistance and longer connector life. The 15 m length covers mid-range distances without additional patching, and the flexible jacket simplifies routing through conduits and around furniture.

Suitable for

• Gigabit Ethernet connections between switches, routers and desktops
• High-speed data links for NAS, media servers and networked storage
• Office and home network wiring where EMI reduction is required
• Temporary or permanent patching in wiring closets and server racks

Key specifications

• Category: Cat6 cabling standard supporting up to 250 MHz bandwidth
• Shielding: S/FTP — overall braided shield with individually foil-shielded pairs
• Length: 15 metres
• Connector: RJ-45 plug with gold-plated contacts
• Jacket color: red for easy identification
• Construction: twisted pair copper conductors suitable for Ethernet applications

How to use

Connect one RJ-45 gold-plated plug to the network device (router, switch, or network interface) and the other plug to the target device. Ensure connectors are fully inserted until the latch clicks. Route the cable to avoid sharp bends, excessive pulling, and close proximity to high-voltage power lines to preserve shielding effectiveness and signal quality. If used in patch panels or keystone jacks, verify compatibility with Cat6-rated terminations and maintain proper wiring pairs and color coding.

Recommendations

For best performance, avoid running the cable parallel and close to mains power cables for long distances; use separate cable trays or route at right angles where paths must cross. Inspect connectors periodically for wear and clean contacts if necessary. Use the red jacket color to mark critical or designated network segments in multi-cable installations.
