Netwerkkabel ShiverPeaks Cat6 S/FTP 5m

The ShiverPeaks Cat6 S/FTP 5m networking cable is a 5‑meter, shielded Ethernet cable designed for reliable high‑speed data transmission. It features S/FTP (shielded/foiled twisted pair) construction to reduce electromagnetic interference and RJ‑45 connectors with gold plating to maintain contact quality and consistent signal transfer. The cable’s Cat6 design supports network environments that require stable throughput and low crosstalk, and its blue jacket offers a clear visual identification in structured cabling setups.

Advantages

S/FTP shielding combines an overall braid with individual foil around each twisted pair to minimise external interference and pair-to-pair crosstalk, improving signal integrity in congested or electrically noisy environments. Gold‑plated RJ‑45 plugs provide corrosion resistance and reliable contact over repeated insertions. The 5 m length suits mid‑range device connections without excess slack, and Cat6 performance allows for higher bandwidth and improved transmission characteristics compared to lower category cables.

Suitable for

• Connecting desktop computers, laptops, or workstations to routers, switches or wall outlets
• Linking network equipment in small office or home office (SOHO) environments
• Wiring for VoIP phones, IP cameras, and other networked devices requiring stable throughput
• Patch cabling in structured network closets or patch panels

Key specifications

• Cable category: Cat6 (Category 6)
• Shielding: S/FTP — overall braided shield plus foil around each twisted pair
• Length: 5 metres
• Connector type: RJ‑45 plugs
• Connector plating: Gold plated contacts
• Jacket colour: Blue

How to use

Plug one RJ‑45 connector into the network port of your device and the other into the corresponding port on your switch, router or wall outlet. Ensure connectors are fully inserted until the latch clicks to secure the connection. Route the cable to avoid sharp bends, excessive pressure, or close proximity to strong electrical sources to preserve shielding effectiveness. For permanent installations, verify connector fit and strain relief, and use cable management channels or clips to prevent kinking.

Recommendations

For optimal performance, use this Cat6 S/FTP cable in environments where interference from adjacent cables or electrical equipment may affect signal quality. Maintain bend radius greater than four times the cable diameter, avoid running parallel to mains power lines, and replace the cable if connector contacts become visibly worn or the jacket is damaged.
