Netwerkkabel ShiverPeaks SP715-SL 5m Cat6 U/UTP grijs

The ShiverPeaks SP715-SL 5m Cat6 U/UTP Grey is a five-meter Ethernet patch cable designed for wired network connections in home and office environments. Constructed to Category 6 specification, this U/UTP cable provides support for high-speed data transfer and reliable signal integrity over short to medium runs. The cable uses RJ-45 connectors with gold-plated contacts and a grey outer jacket that combines a neutral look with practical flexibility for routing behind desks, racks, and network equipment.

Advantages

This Cat6 U/UTP cable delivers predictable performance for Gigabit Ethernet and other high-bandwidth applications, with manufacturing that aims to minimise signal loss and crosstalk. Gold-plated RJ-45 contacts enhance contact resistance and reduce oxidation, helping to maintain a stable connection over time. The five-metre length balances reach and cable management for typical desktop-to-switch or patch-panel connections, while the grey sheath provides a discreet appearance suitable for visible installations.

Suitable for

• Connecting desktop PCs, laptops, and network printers to switches or routers
• Patch-panel and rack-to-equipment links in small office networks
• Home media streaming and online gaming where wired stability is preferred
• Temporary or permanent workstation cabling in shared workspaces

Key specifications

• Category: Cat6
• Shielding: U/UTP (unscreened overall, unshielded twisted pairs)
• Length: 5 metres
• Connector type: RJ-45 to RJ-45
• Contact plating: Gold-plated contacts
• Colour: Grey
• Supports: Gigabit Ethernet (1000BASE-T) and other Ethernet standards within Cat6 performance limits
• Cable jacket: flexible PVC jacket suitable for indoor use

How to use

Plug one RJ-45 connector into the Ethernet port of your device and the other into a switch, router, or wall outlet. Ensure connectors are fully inserted until the latch clicks to confirm a secure mechanical connection. Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and pinch points; maintain a reasonable bend radius to preserve signal integrity. For installations near potential sources of electromagnetic interference, position the cable away from large power supplies, fluorescent lighting, or AC mains cabling when possible.

Recommendations

Use this Cat6 cable for short to medium indoor links where reliable Gigabit connectivity is required. Avoid outdoor exposure and direct UV sunlight; if routing through ceilings or conduit, verify local building codes for cable types allowed in those spaces. Periodically inspect connector ends for debris or damage and replace the cable if the jacket or connectors become compromised.
